Yeah noticed this loads over the years. There's a back corner in my mate's flat in Leith that's been cold since at least 2019, doesn't matter what time of year or how warm the rest of the place is. We've checked for draughts, gaps in the skirting, all of that. Nothing obvious.
My theory is it's something to do with how energy pools in certain spaces rather than moving through them. Like corners are natural dead ends so maybe whatever is causing the drop just... sits there. Sounds daft written out but I've seen it too many times to dismiss it.
Curious whether anyone's actually mapped the cold spots in a location over time and found they stay consistent even after building work or redecorating. Would be interesting data to have. Anyone done anything like that properly?
