This happens to me more than I'd like to admit. I've got a little ceramic owl that sits on my bedside table and at least three or four times now I've woken up in the night and it's facing the wall, which is definitely not where I left it.
The weird thing is it always seems to happen in that half-asleep state just before I properly drop off. I've wondered if there's some connection to hypnagogic states and whether that liminal zone between waking and sleep somehow creates conditions for this kind of activity. Or maybe I'm just knocking things in my sleep without realising.
Anyone else noticed a pattern with the timing? Like does it tend to happen more when you're stressed or overtired? I've been keeping a rough log and there does seem to be a correlation with bad weeks at work for me. Could be nothing, could be relevant. Would be good to know if others are tracking this sort of thing or if I'm overcomplicating it.
