Anyone else had small objects move on their own right after a death in the family?

Lost my brother-in-law back in 2019 and within 48 hours we had some genuinely odd stuff happening in the house. A ceramic mug shifted about six inches across the kitchen worktop - no vibration, no pets nearby, nothing. My wife saw it happen in broad daylight and she's the biggest sceptic I know. She went very quiet about it afterwards.

What struck me was the timing. It wasn't weeks later, it was right in that raw window immediately after the death. I've read accounts suggesting there's a kind of energetic disruption in the days following a passing, almost like the departing consciousness leaves a residual ". Wake". Behind it.

I had my Zoom H5 running in the kitchen that evening doing a passive EVP session - more out of habit than anything deliberate - and picked up what sounds like a sharp click followed by a low tone. Nothing conclusive, but interesting given the context.

A few questions worth exploring here:

Does the relationship to the deceased seem to matter? (Close family vs. acquaintance), Is there a rough timeframe when activity peaks and then stops?, Has anyone managed to capture any of this on camera or audio?

I suspect a lot of people experience this but chalk it up to grief and stress playing tricks. Understandable, really. But when a sceptic witnesses it alongside you, it becomes harder to dismiss.

Would love to hear if others have had similar experiences, especially whether the activity was isolated to one incident or continued over several days.
