Anyone else get stronger EVP signals during winter nights? Or is that just me?

I've been collecting EVP recordings for about five years now, mostly using a decent digital recorder (Zoom H5, cost about £300 originally) and a few apps on my mobile. Nothing earth-shattering, mostly just ambient sounds and the occasional word that might be paranormal or might be pareidolia - you know how it goes.

But I've definitely noticed that winter - particularly December through February - produces better results. More distinct voices, clearer messages, less white noise interference. Could be atmospheric? Could be electromagnetic changes? Or maybe it's just that there's less ambient noise when nobody's about on the dark nights.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if there's something about the longer nights or lower temperatures that creates better conditions for recording. I keep meticulous notes on weather, barometric pressure, time of day, lunar phase - but I haven't found a clear pattern yet beyond the seasonal one.

Interesting observation. The long winter nights definitely create different atmospheric conditions. Lower humidity, temperature inversions, all sorts of things could affect audio recording quality and propagation. Though whether that's mechanical audio quality or actual increased paranormal activity is the eternal question, isn't it?

This is worth exploring. I'm a medium and I've always found my sensitivity peaks in winter - I attributed it to the thinner veil at Samhain and the darker half of the year. Could be that spirits are more active, or it could be that we're simply more attuned to subtler signals when surrounded by darkness and quiet. Either way, definitely seems real.

Or could be confirmation bias - you're expecting better results in winter so you're more likely to interpret ambiguous sounds as EVP. Not being dismissive, just noting it's difficult to rule out. Have you done any blind tests where you didn't know the recording date?

I'd be very interested in seeing your data. If you're willing to share, I could run some basic statistical analysis to see if the seasonal pattern holds up to scrutiny. Fair warning though: most of my colleagues would say EVP is pareidolia full stop. But I'm open-minded and I like rigorous methodology.

Mate, the veil IS thinner in winter. This is ancient wisdom, not pseudo-science. Your results make complete sense. The darkness, the cold, the natural retreat of life - it all creates conditions where the other side can reach through more easily. Keep recording. You're probably documenting genuine contact.
