Been following this thread with interest. I drove past a similar abandoned grain elevator structure years back on a research trip through rural New York state and the atmosphere was distinctly off - that particular low-frequency unease that's hard to put into words but you recognise immediately once you've logged enough hours in genuinely active locations.
A few things worth investigating if anyone's planning a visit:
Infrasound - large industrial structures with open chambers are notorious for generating standing waves below 20Hz. Explains a lot of ". Presence". Feelings without ruling out anything more interesting, Ley line proximity - has anyone mapped the Route 9 corridor? Agricultural sites were often deliberately positioned on older landscape features, EMF baseline - old grain elevators frequently have residual electrical infrastructure rotting in the walls
I'd be curious whether the feeling is consistent across different times of day or seasonal. Some locations I've investigated in the North West produce stronger responses in autumn - something about atmospheric pressure shifts, possibly.
What's the local history like? Any recorded incidents, accidents, or unusual deaths connected to the site? That's usually where I'd start before attributing anything to straight paranormal activity. Context shapes experience in these places more than people acknowledge.
Anyone done a proper night vigil there yet?
