Fascinating report, did anyone manage to get video or even just a photo on their mobile? I'm in Salisbury so obviously I wasn't anywhere near Kansas but I've been tracking triangular craft sightings for a good few years now and the hovering behaviour you're describing rings a lot of bells for me.
The bit that really stands out is the hovering. The ones I've read about over here tend to do that same thing - just sit there completely stationary before moving off at speed. Do you have any sense of how low it was? And was there any sound at all or was it completely silent?
Also curious whether you noticed anything unusual in the area beforehand or afterwards, any strange vehicles, odd looking blokes in dark suits turning up asking questions? That might sound daft but I'd genuinely like to know.
