Not really my area but I stumbled across this thread and I'm curious. I've been reading up on NDEs for a while now and a few accounts I've come across mention a similar kind of static or white noise right at the point of the experience, which I always thought was just the brain doing something odd under stress.
Never done any EVP recording myself so I cant really comment on what you're all hearing. But genuinely wondering - has anyone here who does EVP work also had or studied near-death experiences? Feels like there might be some overlap worth looking at, or maybe I'm just connecting dots that aren't there.
Is there a good starting point for someone who wants to understand the technical side of EVP without jumping straight in with a load of expensive equipment? I'm in Sheffield, not exactly a hotbed of paranormal activity as far as I know, but you never know.
