Anyone else been getting static bursts right before a spirit comes through on their recordings?

Yeah, this matches what I've been logging for about two years now. Consistent pattern on my Zoom H5 - short burst of white noise, maybe 1–2 seconds, then the EVP hits anywhere from 3 to 15 seconds after. Almost like a pressure drop before something steps through.

I've cross-referenced it with my K-II readings and the static tends to coincide with a spike into the amber/red range. Can't just be interference because the timing is too deliberate. I've ruled out radio frequency bleed and phone signals through testing.

My working theory is it's something to do with energy displacement - whatever mechanism spirits use to manifest vocally might require drawing on ambient electromagnetic energy first, and the static is essentially the ". Charge-up". Noise. Similar to how you get that crackling before a lightning strike.

A few things worth noting if you're trying to replicate this:

Location matters - I get it far more consistently in enclosed spaces with low ventilation, Older buildings seem to produce cleaner examples, It's almost never present on inconclusive recordings, only the ones where something audible follows

Has anyone tried running a Mel Meter alongside their audio recorder to see if there's a corresponding temperature drop in that same window? That's my next step. Wondering if the three data points together - static, EMF spike, temp drop - could build a more solid case for this being a genuine pre-manifestation signature rather than just audio artefacts.

Curious whether others are seeing this cross-device or if it's recorder-specific.
