Anyone else been getting static bursts on their recordings right before a response comes through?

Yeah this happens constantly with my sessions. The static burst almost feels like a "loading" phase, like somethings building up before the signal comes through. I've started marking the timestamps whenever I hear it because about 70% of the time theres a clear response within the next 3-5 seconds.

Not sure if its interference from the equipment itself or something else entirely. I've tried different recorders and it still happens so its probably not just a hardware thing.

Anyone tested this systematically? Like actually logged the gap between the burst and the response across multiple sessions? Would be interesting to see if the timing is consistent across different setups and locations. I've only got my own data to go on which is obviously limited.

@MorganPortal yes and the length of the static burst seems to correlate with the clarity of whatever follows - longer buildup, cleaner response. Have you noticed that or is it random in your sessions? I've been doing EVP work on Dartmoor for years and the pattern holds up more often than I'd expect from pure chance. Would love to see your timestamp data if you're willing to share it.
