Yes! This has happened to me more times than I can count. Got a little Olympus digital recorder and i've noticed the static burst almost acts like a warning that somethings coming through. First time I thought it was interference from my mobile but I started logging when it happened and the pattern is pretty clear.
Does anyone know if this is a recognised thing in EVP research? Like is there an actual theory behind it, something to do with energy fields affecting the electronics before a voice manifests? I'd love to know if others are tracking this properly or just noting it casually.
The clearest example I had was at a location in the Vale of Glamorgan last autumn - two sharp bursts then a really distinct Class A voice saying what sounded like a name. Still can't explain it and no one else in the group had any interference at the same moment on their equipment.
