Right so this has been happening to me for ages and nobody I know in person takes it seriously. Before I even attempt contact, sometimes about 30-40 seconds before I'd normally start, the recorder just throws out this burst of static - not continuous, more like a stutter. Three times in the last month alone up here in Northumberland.
The obvious boring explanation is interference from nearby electronics or whatever, but here's what gets me - it happens consistently in the same location, same room, regardless of what other devices are switched off or on nearby. If it was just interference wouldn't it be more random?
Is anyone actually logging when these bursts happen relative to session start times? Because I genuinely wonder if something is basically announcing itself before we even invite contact. Or is that wishful thinking on my part? Genuinely asking, not fishing for validation here. Would love to know if others are seeing any kind of pattern in the timing or frequency.
