Never done EVP work myself but I find this really interesting, do you reckon the static is something actually responding before you've even set an intention, or is it just the equipment warming up? Like is there a baseline you normally record first to rule out the technical stuff?
I've read a bit about NDE accounts where people describe a kind of buzzing or static sound right at the edge of consciousness and I always wondered if that overlaps with what EVP researchers pick up. Probably a stretch but the similarity sticks with me.
What recorder are you using as well, curious if this is happening across different devices or just one model.
