Been doing EVP sessions on and off for about three years now, mostly at locations around Pendle and a couple of derelict spots further north. The vast majority of what I capture is just noise that your brain really wants to turn into words, classic apophenia and all that.
But twice - twice in three years - I've asked a specific question and got back something that genuinely addressed it. Not just a name or a random moan. An actual relevant response. First time I convinced myself it was contamination from somewhere. Second time was harder to explain away.
So I'm curious whether others have had this and what you made of it. Does it change how you think about the mechanism behind EVP? Because if its genuinely responsive that points to something very different than just stray audio being misinterpreted. Would love to hear if anyone else has documented this properly rather than just one-off captures.
