Been doing EVP sessions in my back garden for about two years now, mostly since I got properly interested in whether the poltergeist activity we had in the house a few years back left anything residual. And yeah, I have had a couple of responses that genuinely seemed like direct answers rather than just random noise you could interpret any way you like.
The one that got me was asking "is anyone here" and getting back something that sounded very clearly like "yes, Thomas" - which is my surname. Hard to write that off as pareidolia when its that specific.
What I want to know is whether people think direct responses are more significant than general EVP captures, or whether it just means you happened to hit a clearer signal. Does the directness of a response actually tell us anything meaningful, or are we just pattern-matching harder when we're asking questions and listening for answers?
Anyone else had responses that used your name or referenced something specific to you personally?
