Right, just signed up after lurking for about six months. Been reading through the archives and you lot seem like the only people who won't think I've gone daft. So here goes nothing.

I live in a terraced house in Leeds, nothing fancy, built sometime in the 1920s I reckon. Last Halloween, around 11 PM, my girlfriend and I were settling in to watch some telly when we heard what sounded like someone walking up and down our hallway. Not banging about - just steady footsteps. The weird bit? We checked every door and window. All locked. Nothing on the CCTV either.

My mate reckons it's just the house settling but I dunno... felt proper wrong that night. Anyway, I'm keen to learn more about this stuff. Cheers in advance for not taking the piss too much.

Welcome to Quirk Reports, mate! You're in good company. The house settling thing is what they always say, innit? But seriously, old Victorian terraces have all sorts of quirks - pipes, timber warping, that sort of thing. That said, the fact you had zero camera footage is interesting. Have you had anything else happen since?

Classic case of infrasound IMO. Low frequency vibrations that humans can feel but not hear properly. Makes your brain go a bit weird, creates that uncanny feeling. Nothing supernatural about it. Check if there's a nearby road or railway.

Mate, Leeds is absolutely rife with paranormal activity. You should look into the history of your specific street. Leeds has loads of old plague pits and medieval burial grounds. Might explain things. Also, any electrical interference? Phone acting weird, lights flickering?

Welcome! Don't let the skeptics discourage you. Some of us know the difference between settling houses and actual hauntings. Start keeping a diary of any unusual activity - dates, times, weather conditions, all of it. Really helps narrow things down.
