Welcome to Quirk Reports! First thing - you're not mad, and this is one of the most common experiences people report.

I'm genuinely not trying to be a knob about it. Famous last words! Just kidding. We get a lot of skeptics here, and most discussions are actually pretty balanced.
The lack of physical evidence is actually the smoking gun for me. If a craft genuinely landed in that forest, there would be soil samples, burn marks, something.

Honestly mate, you're exactly the kind of person we need here. The best paranormal communities have both believers AND skeptics actually engaging with each other. It keeps investigations honest.

Rendlesham is fascinating precisely because it's credible - you've got trained observers, multiple witnesses, a documented record made at the time.

Hi everyone, just joined because I'm genuinely concerned and my mates keep taking the piss. I've lived in my Croydon flat for about 18 months, and for the last few months weird stuff has been...

You're absolutely right that most paranormal equipment is overpriced garbage marketed to believers rather than skeptics.
Prepare for some defensive responses when you start asking for reproducible data or proper controls. You'll get 'but ghosts don't cooperate with experiments!' type arguments.

Evening all. Fair warning: I'm a skeptic. I don't believe in ghosts, I think most UFO footage is explainable, and I'm generally the person at parties who ruins the vibe by asking for evidence.
I've been reading up on the Rendlesham Forest incident from 1980 (Suffolk military base, US servicemen witnessing... something) and I'm genuinely baffled.
Some of the best EVP work I've seen comes from people who don't expect to find anything. They're doing acoustic monitoring, they stumble across something genuinely strange that they can't explain,...

The Manchester flat detail matters - older properties or newer builds? Older ones have more settling and movement. Also, which floor? Ground floor with water pipes underneath?

You're right that moorland sightings are probably misidentifications - moorland is open, light changes are weird, and people are primed to see 'something strange'. But woodlands?
If you really want to spend the full £300, invest in a decent thermal imaging camera - you can get entry-level ones around £200-250 now.

I'm not claiming Bigfoot or anything daft Yet you've described something that matches reported Bigfoot characteristics.
